Desserts are sometimes why we eat our meals, even if it is intended to soften the palate after a meal. They give us a taste we need after each meal. The sweetness we aspire is provided by the desserts we eat. There are various types of desserts, made from a variety of components. Each country has its own flavor and ingredients so that we can look forward to the meal with anticipation and relish.

Tiger Hill Tea and Heaven Pool Tea

During this time Tiger Hill Tea (not to be confused with the “black” tea of the same name from the Nilgiris District in what is now Tamil Nadu in southeastern India) was purportedly developed as (still) the finest tea in the world, however, the production quantity was rather small, and growing is regulated by the Chinese government. Jie Tea

Jie Tea () from Chang Xing in Zhejiang Province () is superb and highly regarded, though rather expensive.

NB: “Jie” is the short name for “Luo Jie” (). Luo Jie is the name of a mountain bordering Zhejiang and Jing Qi where, during the Ming dynasty, “jie” meant boundary. Chang Xin lay to the south of Luo Jie mountain while Jing Qi lay to the north of it. Chang Xin still retains its name today.

Luo yeye shi chou Jie tea from Gu Chu mountain in Chang Xing county in Zhejiang was also known as Gu Chu Voilet Shoot. Gu Chu Voilet Shoot had been imperial tribute tea since the Tang dynasty for nearly nine hundred years until the middle of the Qin dynasty. Gu Chu Voilet Shoot was revived again in the seventies as a top grade tea in China.

NB. Jin Qi is now called Yi Xin township. Jin Qi tea was also known as Yang Xian tea. Ruo Leaves are leaves from Indocalamus tessellatus bamboo. The leaf is about 45 cm long.

Liu An Tea

Bring it back to your kitchen counter during the summer; there are so many benefits and fabulous light summertime meals that can be prepared in the crock pot!Most people already know how wonderful crockpot cooking is; throw a few ingredients in a pot, turn it on, and come back eight hours later to a wonderful home cooked meal. We also know that cheaper cuts of meat turn out tender and juicy because they’re cooked with moist heat over long periods of time. Crock pot cooking is perfect for the busy homemaker, the office mom, the busy dad, the work-at-home mom, anyone who has anything to do during the day and is tired by dinnertime, not wanting to spend countless hours preparing dinner for their family. Remove roast and shred meat, replace to crock pot and add a bottle of your favorite barbeque sauce. Stir, cover and cook on high an additional 15-20 minutes. Serve on sandwich buns – a great summertime meal.Brats are also a huge summertime meal where I live, and many techniques have been created to prepare them properly. Many simmer their brats over a low flame on their stove in beer for hours, heating up their kitchen as they do so. I use my crockpot! Place 12 brats in your crock pot, cover with 3-4 cans of beer (the cheaper the better), add one chopped onion and 4 cloves of minced garlic. Cover and cook on high 7-8 hours. Remove brats and grill over a low flame until browned. Serve in hot dog or brat buns with ketchup, mustard, minced onion, and other desired toppings.

Staying ahead will ensure you have everything in order for the night or day of the party. Consider your guest list early. Who are you going to invite and what are their eating habits? A common mistake at dinner parties is when the host forgets to ask beforehand and ends up finding out the hard way that so and so is a vegetarian and so and so is allergic to seafood. With your guest lists needs in mind, you can go ahead and plan your menu. This is the second most important aspect of your party. Why second do you ask? Well during your guest list planning did you make the proper invites? Will everyone get along? If not, reconsider the list. You don’t want an argument ruining your dinner party. With your revised guest list, make preparations for the menu. Do you know what you will be serving or are you still undecided? If you would rather buy out for a deluxe gourmet meal, your guests certainly wouldn’t complain. There is also no rule against ordering take out if your guests love Chinese, Indian, Japanese or some other famous take-out.  However, pizza might be over doing it.

Creating your meal should be done in advance, if possible. The reason for this is you want to have plenty of time to attend to your guests once they arrive. You don’t want to be running in and out of the kitchen an hour after the last person made their way through your front door. Of course, the main dish would probably require your attention, the other aspects of your meal should be in a state of readiness. This means they should be ready to go at a moment’s notice. The appetizers, the dessert and anything else you can prepare for in advance you should definitely have sitting in the refrigerator waiting their turn. This is good practice, by abiding by it, you will have more time for your guests. In turn, you will be fulfilling the number one rule of dinner parties and that is a good host makes for a great party. Enjoy your meal.
